Ritual & Ceremony

Life is a ceremony. Ritual is for the pauses between — the moments that ask to be marked, held, and made sacred. Grace and the divine are abundant, spilling out as experience in every direction. Ritual is how we give that abundance an entrance and an exit. Without it, the sanctity of a life goes unrecognised.

Look back at the moments that have shaped you. Every significant one had some form of ritual — and the ones that did not likely feel incomplete. Words unsaid to someone who has passed. A threshold crossed without ceremony. A becoming that no one witnessed. These are the gaps that ritual fills.

In the Hindu Tantric tradition, the rising and setting of the sun are marked each day. Each moment is treated as sacred. This is living lineage work.

A life without ritual is a life in which the significant goes unmarked — and what goes unmarked is eventually forgotten.

On Moontime

Menstruation has been a central thread of Artemis's sacred practice since she was eighteen years old. For years, living off-grid at the ashram, she would retreat to her moon house — a small hut set aside specifically for menstruation — twelve times a year, spending days in fasting, silence, and solitude.

She has helped people bring their moontime back. She gives mantra for moontime, constructs yantras for it, and has held fire ceremony in its honour. Her knowledge in this area spans both the Tantric tradition and earth-based practice, and her work is available to anyone who menstruates, in a non-gendered and fully inclusive way.

Artemis works with mantra, yantra, yajna (fire ceremony), and puja — traditional forms she has been initiated to give and perform through twelve years of practice within the Bhairavananda lineage of Śivoham Tantra. Ceremonies can be held in person or conducted on your behalf. For those whose ancestry or worldview calls for something different, Artemis also creates ceremonies rooted in your own tradition and relationship with nature.
